Bunny paper cozy

image

This is what we made today, a paper Easter bunny cozy 🙂 . Not like we needed one of those, it was just fun to make, and my daughter decided that her juice was much better this way 🙂 .
Here is what you need :

image

Paper
Crayons
Glue
Plastic eyes
Pipe cleaners
Paper clip

So first let your child colour a piece of paper, than cut a long strap . It needs to be big enough to fit a bunny face around 5 cm let’s say 🙂 . Let your child draw a bunny nose ( or do it yourself ) and show them where to glue the plastic eyes. Now prepare the ears out of the pipe cleaners, and clip them on to bunny’s head. When you are done, wrap your bunny cozy around your child’s favorite cup, and clip the paper in the back so it’s tight and it doesn’t slip off. And it’s ready to be used 🙂 .

Easter chick, toddler paper roll craft

image

Here is another funny creature we made from toilet paper roll , a little chick, covered with foam. I’m not saying it’s the most beautiful chick, but it was fun , cheap and easy to make, and it occupied my toddler, while practicing some fine motor skills 🙂 . And since we once made a butterfly , she now had two friends to play with 🙂 .

image

All you need is :

Toilet paper roll
Foam sheets
Scissors
Glue

image

Wrap the yellow one around the paper roll, cut the shapes for eyes, nose, wings and legs. Let your little helper glue it all where it belongs :

That’s it 🙂 now let them play 🙂

Toddler activity : sorting shapes and colours

image

Here is an easy way to entertain a toddler. Let them sort 🙂 . All you need is paper, crayons and scissors . I cut my little triangles and squares from foam sheets , they are resistant and easily reusable. But if you don’t have any than paper will do as well.
My little one was sorting yellow and red triangles and squares, although you can make them sort any other shapes that you fancy cutting and drowning. I also tried cutting circles but after two that looked like eggs I gave up 🙂 . She was very glad sorting her shapes anyway . 🙂

Toddler activity : Paper roll butterfly

Here is what we did today, dreaming of spring and real butterfly’s 🙂 Toilet paper crafts are such a classic, and this one is really cheap and fun to. I guess using different colors you could end up with a pretty bee 🙂
All you need is :

toilet paper roll
Tissue paper
Foam craft shapes ( we had flowers)
Glue
Scissors
Crayons

So, let your toddler glue all around the paper roll :

Prepare a long peace of tissue paper:

Last minute Valentines treat

image

Today at 7.15 I realized that my daughter was supposed not only to dress in red and white to day care today, but also bring a small hand made treat/gift to exchange with other children. Luckily we had left the toilet paper heart-stamped cards that we made last week together !

image

I added some xoxo’s and love here and there, and stapled one mini package of cookies:

image

image

It took me probably 3 minutes, including the frenetic search for a stapler.
And of course I had to explain to my little girl the principle of a gift exchange. She didn’t seemed to be convinced .

Je t’aime means I love you. A card for dad.

image

image

This is a fun card we made with my girl for her Papa. I like this kind of crafts that take a bit more time. They let her practice her fine motor skills while she’s having fun creating something special with a little bit of my help .
So first what you need to do, is to draw a heart for your child. Then help them roll little balls out a of tissue paper. When it seemed like you have enough , let them glue the little bolls inside the heart.

image

image

When this step is done, cut out the heart, and let your child glue it on the nice card stock. Give them a pretty pen, and let them decorate around the heart. Lily had fun at this step, and I kind of had to stop her from decorating the heart as well.

image

On the inside of the heart she had glued another little heart, and then I asked her if she wanted to say: I love you dad ( in French, since she speaks French with her dad) or kisses. She decided on I love you, so here it is :

We had a lot of fun preparing this card 🙂

what you’ll need

Card stock
Tissue paper
Pretty gold pen
Scissors
Glue

Easy valentines day toddler activity

image

This is so simple, that I almost feel embarrassed to tell you, but in case if like me you didn’t think about it before.. So guess what, toilet paper roll is actually a very versatile stamp ! And since we are still in the mood for valentine day crafts , here it is, a simple and fun activity for your child: toilet paper roll heart stamp:) My little girl had fun stamping and then painting with her fingers, so honestly we didn’t create nothing amazing, but she enjoyed her afternoon, and so did I 🙂

Toilet paper roll
Adhesive tape
Finger paint
Paper

Simply create heart shape, and tape it so it’ll hold while being manipulated by these little hands. Put a bit of paint on let’s say a plate, tray or anything , and let them stamp !

Potato stamp valentine toddler craft

image

With Valentines day approaching , I decided it’s about time to prepare some cards with my two year old. I wanted it to be something that she can do entirely alone ( or almost ). So potato stamp is one of these cheap, easy crafts that any toddler can do, and it will actually turn out quite nice !

image

So first I cut these stamps for her. After she played a bit with them, we made actual valentines cards.

image

I used hand paint, to add her original signature :

And when I asked her if she wanted me to add I love you , or Xoxo , she chose the second one. After all, it was her card 🙂

All you need for this craft is :
Potato
Card stock
Finger paint
Sharpie

Have fun!
