Orange and poppy-seed cake with butter vanilla icing


This is one lovely, delicious winter cake. It has a delicate hint of citrus, great little crunch of poppy-seed, and sweet vanilla icing balancing it all. And it’s an easy one to. Hope you’ll give it a try !

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tea spoon baking powder
3 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/3 cup melted butter
2 teaspoons of freshly grated orange zest
1/4 cup poppy-seeds

2 cups icing sugar
1/2 cup soft butter
1 spoon vanilla extract

Mix dry ingredients, add eggs, milk, butter and zest. Mix it all, add poppy seeds, mix, and purr in the baking dish. Bake around 40 min on 350 F. Meanwhile beat butter until fluffy, add icing sugar and beat some more, in the end add vanilla extract. Don’t eat it all , leave some for your cake 🙂 And remember to let your cake cool down before spreading the butter icing on it. Enjoy !
